Automotive & Electronics

In both automotive and electronics, the use of phase change materials contributes to energy efficiency, improved performance, and the longevity of components. PCMs are used to actuate thermostatic switches and valves, for instance in engine cooling systems. The process cooling system in our own manufacturing plant uses a thermostatic wax valve to alter the flow of returning coolant. When the returning coolant is a low enough temperature, it will be diverted to the holding tank and minimize the flow going to the outdoor fan unit, thus saving us electricity! PCMs are also being used as heat sinks on circuit boards for heat-generating components such as processor chips.
